"Using Technology to Build Connections"

WakerSpace and Wake First Year Students: A Collaborative Technology Project

WakerSpace is an innovative outreach of Wake Forest to introduce students to the latest technology the University has and to supply students with technological tools they would not be exposed to otherwise. This presentation will show how the Assistant Director of WakerSpace, Paul Whitener, and Professor of Counseling, Sam Gladding, worked together to not only expose first year students to the technology of WakerSpace but actually taught them how to use it and employ it in their final projects in the First Year Seminar “Creativity in American Life.” Examples of final projects will be shown, and the two presenters will discuss what they learned in helping students become successful, academically and technologically.
