"Using Technology to Build Connections"

Introducing 3D Characters into Chinese Learning

This project features a novel application of the makerspace practice in a Pro Humanitate educational context by integrating hands-on WakerSpace experience with foreign language learning. With the support of WakerSpace Fellow grant, this project introduced 3D character learning in CHI 101 First-Year Chinese (I). The  introduction of 3D technology not only incorporated haptic information cues that complement and interact with visual information in students’ radical awareness development, but also added exciting possibilities for new classroom instructional design.
